Vitamin D & Oils
This is my son and I's special spot. We love to go for a walk on the boardwalk, grab some homemade ice cream, hit up the playground and his favorite is feeding the ducks. There's even a little beach area where he likes to draw letters in the sand. I feel so blessed to live so close to this beautiful place and enjoy this view on a regular basis.
I took the day off yesterday from work because I was experiencing vertigo the night before so I was able to pick up my son from school a little early to go enjoy the nice weather. Our spot was where we headed. Recently I was told by my doctor I have a small vitamin D deficiency so being in the sun was basically doctors orders. Well doc, I filled your prescription. :) We went to a new playground after the lake too which was filled with only boys, about 10 of them. They all had a blast. Chasing each other, flying on the swings, climbing up the slide...batman even joined the fun.
The next week or so is going to be perfect weather. I definitely want get outside as much as possible. It has been so hot and humid lately that being outside was more miserable than anything so this is a nice change. And nothing beats a beautiful day outside with your kids. It's a great stress reliever for me too, which is very much needed! Like VERY MUCH haha. Sunshine, a nice breeze, a smile on my son's face, what's better than that?
Another way to relieve stress and anxiety is with essential oils.
The other day after I threw dinner in the oven (roasted veggies & turkey meatloaf) I decided to make my very first essential oil room spray. It took some tweaking with the oils to get the smell I wanted, but once I figured out how much of each worked it smelled great. Even my son had a blast spraying the house and kept saying "SMELLS GOOD MOMMY!"
The recipe calls for:
4 oz water
4 oz witch hazel
24 drops eucalyptus
24 drops lavender
20 drops lemon
20 drops peppermint
If you only have a smaller spray bottle, adjust the quantities accordingly. You just have to play around with the oils to get the smell you desire. Be sure to shake the bottle a little before each spray and to not leave it the sun or heat.
Positive vibes,
Jenn
