Family Fun Filled Weekend

The weather really did turn out to be beautiful this past weekend.

Saturday morning we headed to grandma and pop pop's.

Since the weather was literally perfect we decided to bring lunch to the park and have a picnic. It's crazy some days us moms struggle getting our kids to eat, but then other days they can't get enough food. My son inhaled two hog dogs and a bunch of grapes followed by some of a homemade banana muffin grandma made. MOM WIN! He sure needed to fuel up though for our walk in the flower garden and of course all the fun on the playground. All this after demanding to play soccer as soon as we got to grandma and pop pop's which also continued at the park. I have a very active fun little boy and I love that he keeps me on my toes.

After getting back to the house my son wanted to do a puzzle, a 60 piece that is for ages 5 & up. He just turned 3. But as all my fellow moms know when a kid, especially a toddler, gets something in their head it is imperative to make that happen or a tantrum will follow. So we opened the puzzle and put it on the dining room table. He loves puzzles, but the only kind he has ever done are jumbo/extra-large floor puzzles geared to his age or younger. Some of these floor puzzles have gone up to 48 pieces but they are big pieces. This 60 piece puzzle wasn't a floor puzzle. It was a regular small pieces puzzle that you need to do on a table.

After about 15-20 minutes he had completed the dinosaur puzzle with no help and barely looked at the picture for guidance. Watching him do this puzzle was unexplainable, I was just so proud! MOM MOMENT! He had patience the entire time, looked at the tiniest details that I wouldn't even think to and he was beaming with excitement each time a piece was in the right place. When he finished it was such a special moment, I just had to keep it. It's currently puzzle glued together and I need to find a frame for it.

The night end with a very sleepy boy passed out and the most hilarious moment with my mom at Shoprite at 9pm. You gotta love a good laugh that makes you cry and a forever memory.

After a great Saturday, we headed home Sunday and went to this sunflower maze up by us.

I have been to the sunflower maze once a few years back, but it moved and was a little different. It was a nice little hike with my favorite sunflowers, wildflowers, pretty views and even a scavenger hunt for the kids. Super cute and well worth the little trip.

Fall weather seems to be here and I have a lot going on the next month or so on the weekends. Lots to look forward to.

Sometimes life throws you curve balls, scares or just really bad fucking days, but during those moments the good times and happy times need to overpower the shitty times. Reminding myself of this is necessary because we all let life get the best of us sometimes. Your best is good enough.

Surround yourself with nature, positive people and enjoy some random booty shaking.

Positive vibes,

Jenn
